Newport’s work doesn’t end at our clients’ front doors. Across DFW, Houston, and San Antonio, we partner with community organizations, faith communities, and senior centers to support healthy aging, family caregiving, and access to home health resources.
Why we invest in community work
Most families who eventually need home health care had no idea what was available, or what they qualified for, until a crisis forced them to learn.
Newport’s community programs aim to shorten that learning curve — meeting families and seniors where they already gather, before a crisis.
What we offer the community
Caregiver education sessions
Free 60–90 min sessions at senior centers, libraries, faith communities. No sales pitch.
Senior center partnerships
Supporting members aging in place. In-home assessments and one-on-one Q&A.
Hospital discharge outreach
Working with hospital case managers and post-acute teams to help families navigate sudden home-care needs.
Caregiver workforce development
Partnering with workforce boards and community colleges to recruit and train Texas caregivers.
Faith community connections
Speaking with church, mosque, synagogue, temple leaders about home care options for the congregation.

Every session is informational. Newport isn’t selling — we’re sharing what we’ve learned.
Caregiver education topics we cover
Sessions rotate based on what local groups ask for, but commonly include:
- Understanding Texas Medicaid, STAR+PLUS, and how to apply for long-term services
- What Medicare home health actually covers (and what it doesn’t)
- Recognizing caregiver burnout and what to do about it
- Safe transfers and fall prevention at home
- Managing dementia-related behaviors with patience and structure
- End-of-life conversations: hospice vs. palliative vs. comfort care
- Talking to a doctor when you suspect something is wrong
