STAR+PLUS (Adults)
STAR+PLUS is Texas Medicaid managed care for adults who are 65 or older or who have a disability. In-home personal attendant services are one of its core long-term benefits — you can read more about how STAR+PLUS home care works in Texas. Newport works with all four STAR+PLUS health plans in our service areas:
- Molina Healthcare — our largest STAR+PLUS partnership, with 160+ Molina members receiving care from Newport today. See our dedicated Molina home care page.
- UnitedHealthcare Community Plan — contracted for STAR+PLUS personal attendant services across our service areas.
- Superior HealthPlan — contracted STAR+PLUS provider; we coordinate directly with Superior service coordinators.
- Wellpoint — contracted STAR+PLUS provider; same in-home services, billed directly to the plan.

Children’s Coverage (STAR Kids, STAR & CHIP)
Newport also provides pediatric personal care services at home for children covered by Texas Medicaid children’s programs — STAR Kids, STAR, and CHIP. We work with these children’s health plans:
- Cook Children’s Health Plan — pediatric personal care services for STAR Kids and STAR members.
- Aetna Better Health — in-home personal care for children enrolled in Aetna’s Texas Medicaid programs.
- UnitedHealthcare — pediatric personal care through UnitedHealthcare’s Texas children’s Medicaid plans.
Traditional Medicaid (HHSC)
Not every Texan with Medicaid is in a managed-care plan. Newport also accepts traditional fee-for-service Medicaid administered directly by Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC). If your Medicaid card doesn’t show a health-plan name, this is likely you — and we can still provide covered in-home services and bill HHSC directly. Newport is contracted for VA community care — if you’re a veteran with a home-care referral, ask us; we work with VA referrals.
